As with all our work, we constantly look to the future. Creating projects and programmes today, that will benefit communities tomorrow. And within the tourism sphere this is of vital importance given the turbulent environment of the last two years. We supported the creation of six (6) country-specific and sub-regional Tourism Diagnostic Reports to assist countries and territories in designing future policies adapted to the COVID-19 context for the tourism sector. Further to this we created a Diagnostic Report of Dominica’s Private Sector in partnership with the Dominica Association of Industry & Commerce (DAIC).
Our work on policy this year to advance digital transformation, social protection and climate action has paved the way for continued expansion in these areas and we will continue to work with Government partners and donors to boost the resilience of the region.
We are excited about two incoming projects focused on Sargassum Management in the region as well as a new iteration of the CariSECURE project which will focus on addressing trafficking in persons as well as expanding the impacts of the Police Management Information System (PRMIS). And we are having promising talks with both civil society, donors and partners to expand our reach in social protection, gender equality and resilience building.
As we prepared for the future at our team Retreat, we discussed the role of Innovation and Digitalisation with Indy Johar of Dark Matter - Check out the clip below. These insightful conversations and techniques borrowed from the Accelerator Labs (like Futures Thinking) are helping us to reframe our present and plan for our future.
2023 is shaping up to be a fantastic year filled with promise and we are delighted to be heading towards it with partners like you!
